MEMBERSHIP AND ACCESS CARDS (Updated November 2017)

I would like to become a member of the CHFC. Am I eligible?

Eligibility for membership

Current employees of the federal government, Crown Corporations, as well as federal government-associated agencies and federal government-associated organizations occupying office space at Canada Post Place or in the Confederation Heights area are eligible for membership to the Centre.

Proof of eligibility is required. Applicants must provide a valid work email address from an employer listed above or a photocopy of a valid work ID.

Family of CHFC members
Membership is also available to family members over the age of 21 who reside at the same address as the CHFC member.

Proof of eligibility is required. The applicant must provide a copy of his / her driver’s licence (or other photo ID showing a valid address) and provide the name of the primary CHFC member for verification. A scanned copy of the photo ID can be sent by email to chfc.membership@gmail.com, the application will not be processed until the photo ID is received.

 
When and where can I pick up my access card?

Where: CHFC gym

When: The second and fourth Thursday of the month between 12:00 and 12:30 p.m.

What to bring: Work ID or picture ID (driver’s licence preferred)

How: Show ID and sign that you picked up your card

Who: Only members can pick up an access card. A member may sign for and pick up an access card for another member provided the latter has a signed note authorizing the former to do so. The CHFC will not be responsible for access cards once they are signed out.

 
I filled out and submitted my membership form online. When can I start to use the facilities?

You will have access to the facilities once your membership has been verifiied and you have picked up your access card (FOB).

 
How often are membership applications processed?

Membership applications are processed every 72 hours. You can pick up your access card on the second or fourth Thursday of the month between 12:00 and 12:30 p.m.

 
What do I do if I lose or damage my access card?

Contact CHFC.Membership@gmail.com to report a lost or damaged access card.

A membership coordinator will deactivate your card.

Deposit a $20 cheque in the grey membership box at the entrance to the gym. Make sure the cheque identifies you.

A membership coordinator will contact you to let you know that your replacement card is ready for pickup.

Access card pickup takes place every second and fourth Thursday of the month at the gym between 12:00 and 12:30 p.m.
If your access card is found after a replacement has been issued, contact a membership coordinator.

 
What do I do if I find an access card?

Deposit found access cards in the grey membership box at the entrance to the gym.

A membership coordinator will contact the member and make arrangements for pickup.

 
What do I do with my access card if I do not wish to renew my membership?

Deposit your access card in the grey membership box at the entrance to the gym with a note stating that you do not wish to renew and send an email to chfc.membership@gmail.com.

 
Can members of my family join the gym?

Yes, family members over the age of 21 and living at the same address are eligible for membership. 

 
Can I bring a guest to the gym?

No, access to the gym is limited to members only.

 
I bring my children to the gym?

No, for safety and insurance reasons and out of consideration for all members, access is limited to gym members only. Children of any age are not allowed on the premises at any time even if their parents are members.

 
Can I submit one membership form for myself and my spouse or does each person need to fill out a separate form?

Each applicant must create a separate account and agree to the waiver.
